Mid-winter at the Dams (Ian Robinson)

The group owns and / or actively manages several nature reserves in the area for the benefit of birds and wildlife. Click on the links below for details; for a map, see here.

Filey Dams
The most substantial and diverse wetland in the area, managed by FBOG on behalf of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

The Old Tip
A reclaimed rubbish tip, purchased and managed by FBOG and now a flourishing, mixed habitat reserve.

East Lea
A small, diverse wetland and marshland reserve on the outskirts of Filey town.

Parish Wood
Leased, planted and managed by the group, and now a thriving local community woodland.

Rocket Pole Field
Grazed grassland, ponds, scrub and secondary woodland, on the front line for tired migrants.
