20th June 2019

A quiet few days for the area with most records coming from the Dams. The Little Ringed Plover remained until 16th and the Little Egret until 17th. The latter date also saw a moulting drake Mandarin and female Pintail drop in. Swifts were on the move with 214 Southwest at Hunmanby Gap in an hour on 17th. The seawatch continues to have single figures of Common Scoter, Manx Shearwater and Sandwich Tern each day with a Bar-Tailed Godwit on 17th and 12 Common Terns, two Tufted Ducks and a Dunlin yesterday. Insect interest was provided today with a Hairy Dragonfly at Reighton Ponds and 65 Painted Lady butterflies in the Southern part of the area.
