Barred Warbler (Mark Pearson)

Barred Warbler (Mark Pearson)

Another mainly sunny day with a light westerly wind produced a Barred Warbler in the Country Park (SC et al), our first since 2012 of an inexplicably rare migrant in the area. 945 Pink-footed Geese went south during the day, the autumn’s Whooper Swan and another two Barnacle Geese flew south at the Gap, at least two Yellow-browed Warblers were in the Country Park area, and a movement of thermalling raptors consisted of 12 Common Buzzards and a Marsh Harrier.
