8th October 2015
A finer and bright day with a westerly wind encouraged both wildfowl movements and passerine feeding activity today. Of the former, a Scaup circuited the bay and five Barnacle Geese and 400 Pink-footed Geese flew south, and of the latter, three Yellow-browed Warblers, 15 Chiffchaffs and five Ring Ouzels were in the coastal cover. A Snow Bunting flew over North Cliff and two Lapland Buntings went over the Gap.
Yesterday (7th) saw a Sooty Shearwater, two Little Gulls, two Pomarine and 33 Great Skuas passing the Brigg (JS) and a single Kingfisher still there. On the land, thick fog hampered observations but four Yellow-browed Warblers and four Ring Ouzels maintained the theme of recent days.
