22nd October 2015
A quiet few days in the area with minimal passage noted on land and at sea. A single Sooty Shearwater was the best of the latter this morning, with Sandwich Terns moving south this morning and yesterday, when two were fishing in the bay. A late sand Martin overflew the ringers at Top Scrub, where a Common (Mealy-type) Redpoll was among birds caught. Visible migration at the Gap on 20th saw 22 of both Brambling and Reed Bunting heading north-west, when 110 Skylarks headed over the Country Park and a Migrant Hawker was at the entrance of the same site.
