Cormorant and Coots, East Lea (Mark Pearson)

Cormorant and Coots, East Lea (Mark Pearson)

A relatively quiet few days characterised by strong winds and changeable conditions. Highlights have included a Wood Sandpiper briefly at the Tip today (CW) and a Red Kite over the town yesterday (JH), while numbers of commoner migrants are building steadily – Sylvia warblers (including the first few Garden Warblers), hirundines (with e.g. 70 Sand Martins, 50 Swallows and 20 House Martins today), Swifts (c55 today), waders (including several Whimbrels) and wagtails (including four Yellow and a single White at East Lea today).
