16th March 2015

A small arrival of passerines included a female Stonechat on Carr Naze, 15 Goldcrests in the northern area and four Chiffchaffs together in Church Ravine this morning, while a Common Buzzard headed north along the bay and then u-turned.

Notable records from the last few days included a Glaucous Gull north on 11th (JS), two Pomarine Skuas south past Hunmanby Gap on 12th (KC, NCt) (with two skua sp. past the Brigg presumably the same birds) and one south on 15th, and single Scandinavian Rock Pipits on Carr Naze and the Brigg on several days (MJP, JS). Of interest, a Rough-legged Buzzard skirted around (but perhaps just beyond?) the southern limit of the recording area on the afternoon of the 14th, between Reighton and Hunmanby (GS).
