10th March 2015

A slightly busier week with notable records over the land and sea. A female Stonechat arrived in the Rocket Pole Field this morning (with presumably the same relocating to the Tip this afternoon), while seven Rock Pipits included at least one Scandinavian bird. A Blue Fulmar flew past the hut early on, while a juvenile Glaucous Gull (JS) went north yesterday (9th). Three Egyptian Geese came over the Brigg and bay and then past Hunmanby Gap on 8th (JS, KC et al), with visible migration at the latter site including 68 Siskins and 84 Skylarks south.

A female-type Goosander went north on 7th, while impressive northbound passage of Pink-footed Geese included a clear peak of at least 1805 on the morning of 5th and smaller flocks on several other days.
