14th February 2015

A quiet few days was suddenly enlivened by the arrival of a fine drake Surf Scoter (CW et al) off the Brigg and latterly in the bay corner from mid-morning to at least mid-afternoon. Our sixth, this smart American seaduck follows on the heels of another adult male in the same spot in June / July 2013.

Otherwise, the Dams has at least three Water Rails and Chiffchaff this afternoon, up to two Great Northern Divers are in the bay, and a total of 625 Pink-footed Geese flew north on the morning on 11th.
