A much quieter day today, with a brisk south-easterly breeze and sunny skies. The Black Guillemot returned to the north of the bay for a second day, however, and a Common Buzzard flew south at Muston Sands; otherwise, the best of the sea was a single Sooty Shearwater, and the wetland reserves were generally quiet.

The ringing team caught an impressive 70 birds this morning (retraps in brackets):

Meadow Pipit 13, Blackcap 4, Willow Warbler 2, Chiffchaff 4, Goldcrest 3, Greenfinch 11, Goldfinch 2, Bullfinch 1, Robin 1, Coal Tit 2, Blue Tit 7 (1), Great Tit 10 (2), Dunnock 7 (1), Wren 1 (1), Reed Warbler (1).
