4th August 2014

Two more Little Terns were the highlight of this morning’s sea-watch (BP, JS), as well as another Little Egret north; two more were at the Dams, where there were also two Green Sandpipers, two Common Sandpipers, six Snipe, eight Lapwing and the season’s first Southern Hawker. Yesterday (3rd) a Marsh Harrier flew north over Hunmanby Gap, with presumably the same bird seen at the Dams about 30 minutes later, while a Greenshank dropped in at the latter site.

A reminder about this Saturday’s events – the second annual FBOG Woodcock Festival kicks off at midday (see here for full details and line-up), while the evening talk about Migration in Filey begins at 7pm sharp at the Evron Centre (details here). Both events are free and all are welcome.
