High pressure and sunshine continues, as does a light early spring passage – the best of which today consisted of 25 Whooper Swans drifting north on the sea several miles off the Brigg, a Short-eared Owl on Carr Naze early morning, single Great Skua and Mediterranean Gull north, and several Little Gulls still around both the Brigg and Hunmanby Gap.

15 Snow Buntings are in the northern stubbles, one of which is colour-ringed – full details are awaited, but we know the bird was ringed in France; more to follow.

The contact calls of migrating Redwings are a fixture of all recent nights here in the town.
