Late news for today – a Balearic Shearwater went south this morning, and large southbound movement of 731 Golden Plovers occurred early on (JS). A Black-throated Diver was off Hunmanby Gap this morning, perhaps the same bird being involved in several recent reports in what’s been a particularly good few months for this species locally. Also off the Gap, at least four Little Gulls and six Velvet Scoters, and a Brambling continues to visit a local garden (KC, NC).
Yesterday saw at least six Little Gulls in the north of the bay and three more plus four Velvet Scoters off the Gap. A Bar-tailed Godwit was on the Country Park and a Chiffchaff was at East Lea among more usual sightings.
