23rd February 2014

A Mediterranean Gull and 15 Little Gulls were in the bay this afternoon. Otherwise generally more of the same over recent days (although ‘the same’ isn’t so bad for the time of year): The Slavonian Grebe continues its preference for the middle part of the bay (last seen off Primrose Valley yesterday), up to 15 Little Gulls have occupied the same area (with up to five in the Brigg / Bay corner area), at least two Velvet Scoters are still off Reighton, and two Pink-footed Geese are still with the feral flocks in the Dams / East Lea area.

A pod of three White-beaked Dolphins passed the Brigg on 21st but unfortunately didn’t stick around.
