Strong northerlies provided two consecutive days of quality late-autumn sea-watching from the Brigg, where the following highlights were logged:

Today’s 7.5 hours saw a high count of 400 Eiders (in flocks of up to 65), a Balearic Shearwater, five Long-tailed Ducks, a Pomarine Skua, a Velvet Scoter, four Bonxies, two Arctic Skuas, a blue Fulmar and a Great Northern Diver (MJP, JS).

The pick of yesterday’s morning session included a Little Auk, a Scaup, and a Merlin heading out to sea at the Brigg (MJP, JS) and a Sooty Shearwater and a Glaucous Gull past Hunmanby Gap (KC).
