RINGING WEEK kicked off this morning in the Top Scrub – follow the track immediately left after the Country Park Cafe and look for the team a few hundred metres up on the right – all welcome.

At least six Yellow-browed Warblers were in the area today, with new birds at the Tip (J&TGD), The Dams and Newbiggin (HJW), and two in Church Ravine (MJP), as well as a bird in the Top Scrub which was presumably the vocal bird of the last couple of Days. Two Snow Buntings went over, two Ring Ouzels were in the hedges and two Short-eared Owls were in the coastal area, but otherwise it was leftovers Рthe Dusky Warbler remained in Arndale (but was generally elusive), and the Red-breasted Flycatcher remained in Long Lane (ditto).
