Good numbers of incoming migrants again today, arriving throughout and with a regular changeover of birds across the area. Red-breasted Flycatchers were in Short Hedge (FM) and the Top Scrub pines (MJP et al), Ring Ouzels were in both Short and Long Hedges, while a significant arrival of Mealy Redpolls included birds in Church Ravine (two), Short Hedge (three), Top Scrub (two) and Carr Naze (one). Redwings numbered at least 600 (with large flocks overflying the area as well as many putting down), Goldcrest and Brambling numbers continue to swell with growing flocks in several places as well as individuals well spread, and both Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps are ubiquitous throughout.
