It was all about the weather today, as the forecast rain and strengthening NNE wind dropped an impressive cast onto the plateau and slopes of Carr Naze this afternoon. Topping the bill were a minimum of five Yellow-browed Warblers, with good back-up provided by a Jack Snipe, over 200 Song Thrushes, a Snow Bunting, a Lapland Bunting, four Redstarts, 18 Redwings and six Bramblings (MJP et al).
The bay held plenty of interests, with four Red-necked Grebes, three Red-breasted Mergansers, 25 Red-throated Divers, six Great Crested Grebes and up to 1500 in mixed duck flocks, comprising mainly Teal and Wigeon.
