The sea continues to dominate sightings with north-westerlies providing a strong cast this morning, which included a Sabine’s Gull, eight Long-tailed Skuas, a Blue Fulmar, twenty-five Sooty Shearwaters, a Little Gull and two Velvet Scoters, as well as strong wildfowl passage (MJP, JS). A fresh-in Snow Bunting was on the tip of Carr Naze and a Whinchat was at the pond.

The Dams continues to hold a good selection of waders, with the Little Stint still the pick of the bunch there.

Recent sightings: a Red-necked Grebe was close in by the steps on Carr Naze yesterday (10th). An otherwise quiet start to September, although the Dams held waders including a Little Stint, up to twenty Dunlin, Black-tailed Godwits, Ringed Plover, Ruff, Green and Common Sandpipers, Snipe, Curlew and Lapwing.
