24th August 2013

A promising but ultimately underwhelming day with drizzle, fog and at times heavy rain. Despite a good likelihood of a scarcity, commoner migrants were the order of the day, with an arrival on Carr Naze of Tree Pipit, Whinchat, Redstart, Pied Flycatcher and three Wheatears late morning. Otherwise, another three Pied Flycatchers, a good scattering of Willow Warblers and a few Sylvias were in the scrub, up to 17 Black-tailed Godwits were at the Dams and a Sooty Shearwater was on the sea.
